Mr. Veeranna Shatkar
MBBS, MS, FRCS (Gen Surg)
Consultant General Surgeon (General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery), providing care to patients from Essex and Greater London.
Mr Shatkar's NHS practice is based at Queen's Hospital, Romford and he provides private care at the Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, Spire Hartswood Hospital and Spire London East Hospital.
Professional Profile
I am a consultant General Surgeon, Colorectal Surgeon and GI Endoscopist providing care at NHS and private hospitals. I am also the Clinical Director for General Surgery, Endoscopy and Gastroenterology departments at the BHR NHS Trust, Romford.
After passing the FRCS and completing specialist surgical training, I pursued my interest in emergency general surgery, colorectal surgery and proctology.
At the trust, I led the service development for minimally invasive treatments in proctology
( Haemorrhoids, Fissure, Fistula, Pilonidal sinus ) including Rafaelo procedure, Epsit, Vaaft, THD and Botox injection for anal fissure.
I have a keen interest in medical education. I am the lead for the BHR Academy of Surgery and won the HSJ award for people and organisational development in the year 2021.

I am an ardent cricket fan and love listening to music. I am married to a doctor and we have two beautiful daughters.
